Managing Directors
Alex Walker possesses world class international finance, sales, strategy, operations, acquisitions, and turn around experience. He draws on this extensive experience to help executives formulate business strategy, negotiate M&A strategies and secure financing. Prior to joining Blackmore Partners, Alex held CEO, COO and CFO roles for private and public technology and manufacturing companies. During his career, Alex has raised over $200 million in capital, negotiated over 20 M&A transactions, turned around troubled organizations and served on the boards of several companies. He received an MBA from the University of Chicago and an Engineering Degree from Queen's University.
Erik Ginsberg has worked in the private equity industry for over 15 years. Before joining Blackmore Partners, Erik was a founder and Partner of Slate Venture Group, a venture capital firm based in Baltimore, MD. While at Slate, he also served as CEO of one of their portfolio businesses. Prior to founding Slate Venture Group, Mr. Ginsberg was a Director with DB Capital Venture Partners (ABS Ventures). Mr. Ginsberg was also a Senior Vice President with Sterling Capital, Ltd., a mid-market LBO firm. His tenure at Sterling Capital included CEO and EVP operating roles with two of Sterling's portfolio companies. Mr. Ginsberg began his career at Kirkland & Ellis in their private equity group, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and leveraged buyouts. He received his B.A. from Brown University and his J.D./M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
Jeff Murphy is a seasoned operations and sales executive with a successful track record of building businesses, maximizing productivity and leading companies to record revenues and profits. Jeff has held several executive operating roles at technology and logistics firms. Prior to joining Blackmore Partners, Jeff founded and was Chief Operations Officer of a leading software company focused in logistics, prior to which he was principal at a logistics consulting group, where he managed several major supply chain and distribution systems integration projects for global manufacturing and retail clients. Jeff is a professional Engineer, holds a Master of Engineering from the University of British Columbia, and an Engineering degree from Queen's University.
Gerald O'Dwyer has over 20 years of experience facilitating hundreds of change initiatives including mergers and acquisitions. At Blackmore Partners, Gerald focuses on working with executives to develop their vision and discover their passion. In 1992, Gerald founded Fuzhen Group where he helped a wide range of investment firms and companies (or company divisions) develop the thinking and behavioral skills that are needed to speed up the implementation of any strategy, vision, or initiative. Gerald's past clients range from small-cap companies to Fortune 100 organizations and include Silk Road Equities, Motorola, BP, Siemens, ChevronTexaco, and Apple, among many others. Before Fuzhen Group, Gerald was a founder and partner of Harvard Brown and Team XCEL Partners, a consulting and private investment firm.
Lars Hamkens has extensive financial management, fund raising, M&A and divestiture experience. Prior to joining Blackmore Partners, Lars was a Chief Financial Officer at several firms. During his career, he has been responsible for raising Private Equity and Debt funding and has had over 15 years of global experience in corporate finance and risk management. He holds a degree from the European Business School near Frankfurt, Germany in business administration and corporate management.
